Today, we visited the Washington Pavilion. There were a variety of different science exhibits that the summer care children visited. There were exhibits for sound, motion, fitness, and astronomy. One of my favorite questions from the boys and girls was, “How does that work?” Their attention spans were short but they were inquisitive. Children are hungry to learn about new things and especially through hands on activity. Have you taken some time at home to do some fun experiments that teach your children? At our preschool, day care, and summer care program we hope children learn about a variety of things through a variety of activities. For example, this summer some of the children are learning about the piano through a special guest piano teacher. Take time this week for some hands on learning with your child!
Adorable Age: What is it?
Over the holiday weekend a friend said, “Our child is now at the adorable age!” They thought the adorable age was two. After some reflection I can not help but think that every age is adorable in one way or another. At the day care we have children who are just learning new words. At the summer care program we have elementary age children who are beginning to ask deep questions. At each age level there are different challenges but I love being able to see children of all ages at our various child care programs. No matter what age your child is don’t forget to remind them that they are adorable!
